Sosyoloji Divanı, as a new breath in the respected history of sociology in Turkey, intends to discuss the social issues, facts, cases, horizons and verges by standing between the past and future. Sosyoloji Divanı aims to develop an imagination of critical comprehension, understanding, reading and explaining by based on a consciousness which implies that the state of human and society come into being by changes, renews, differs and reforms from past to now and from now to future. It places itself in such a framework. 

The journal is a sociology journal as its name suggested. It is an indisputable fact that sociology is a nearby place to the other disciplines, manner of articulations, types of arts, and human conditions. He sees many resources into the mortars laying its bricks to comprehense, understand and sympathize with the human beings. In this context, it accustom with history, art, literature, theology, geography, anthropology, psychology and other human sciences. It cares about interdisciplinary approach and includes all readings in human and social reality. The problematic, pain, love, possibilities and problems of human and society are the channels of Sosyoloji Divanı. However, it is obvious that it prioritizes the sociological perspective and discourse. Being able to create a sociology tradition, acting from the existing accumulation is a must. Sosyoloji Divanı blends scientific knowledge and other knowledge incorporates and thus enriches its content. It examines the link between the theoretical and the living. It puts emphasis on making transitions from living to theory, from theory to living. Avoiding micro and macro distinction, it examines closer the reality of humanity where major historical and social problems and sole problems of individual are coexisting. Hence, besides academic texts, it also allows for the essays of examinations, portraits, cities, places, cinema and photographs. It aims to be a journal of thought in which the sociological and literal perspective and language come closer. Though saying severely that the scientific text must be an intellectual text primarily, it also favours that producing scientific knowledge without including literature and another thinking way may lead to a vicious circle. Considering these principles, Sosyoloji Divanı tries to be a new breath in sociology and to develop a diverse idea of sociology by present its own dialect and wording.
